For those who use Shentel-based email, you may have encountered some scary warnings on their webmail site. I want to assure you that Shentel Webmail is safe to use, and those are false alerts.
Shentel Webmail has been erroneously flagged by some antivirus vendors. I’ve spoken with Shentel tech support and they are aware of the oversight. It will take some time for their higher-up tech staff to convince the security companies of the world to reverse this issue.
Until this is cleared up, you may be barraged by security warnings as you visit the Shentel Webmail page. If so, study the message alert for a checkbox or button that would allow you to access the page anyway, and also to suppress future warnings about this site. If you find the right options, these warnings will quiet down and let you use the website as normal.

Alternatively, you could dig through the settings of your security program and add the webmail URL to any Allow List you find. If you try this, make sure to use the full address for Shentel Webmail: https://webmail.shentel.net/app/
A final option could be to try out an email client. Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird can be installed and setup with a Shentel email address. And any email client would not trigger these sort of alerts.
