Amazon has made it easy to review what they know about you. You should check it out.
If you’re in the Amazon mobile app, tap the “Person” icon at the bottom, tap your name at the top, and then go to the section called “About You beta“.
On a computer, visit Amazon’s website in your browser and click your name to the upper-right, then click “About You” to the upper-left.
What follows is the dossier that Amazon has compiled on you. The list of personal details that you review here is based on your shopping history, Amazon searches and reviews, conversations with Alexa and more. Depending on how much you shop and interact with Amazon, this list could be astoundingly detailed…
Feel free to correct anything on the list that is inaccurate or delete anything that is embarrassing… but don’t feel like you must. Really, this is best seen as a reality check on how much our tech is surveilling us.
