What in the World Did Google Do Now?

This settlement is the result of all 50 states’ Attorneys General suing Google over “alleged monopolization of content on the Google Play Store“. Of course, Google admits no wrongdoing, but they are settling the matter for $630M and paying out small amounts to anyone who bought anything from within the Google Play Store from 2016 to 2023.

Do I Have to Do Anything?

Other than understanding the basics of the email, No! Just sit tight, and sometime after April 2026, you may get a notice of payment. Google is responsible for tracking everyone who paid money in the Google Play Store during that seven-year period. They will track you down by your contact info and send you a payment, through Paypal or Venmo.

The exception to this might be if your email address and other contact info has changed significantly since that time period. If you think Google cannot track you down easily, feel free to visit this website and use the Submit Contact Information link at the top-middle.
