As I enjoy YouTube and TikTok, I struggle with the varying volume levels. Some videos are easily heard, while others are quiet and hard to hear. It’s not that I’m hard of hearing. Rather, it’s that my laptop has very modest speakers, and adjusting the system volume can only do so much. I want to share with you that there is an easy way to get a browser volume boost:
Volume Master, for Chrome and Edge
These are free extensions that give you a new icon for your browser’s volume. And you may use this tool, on the fly, to boost the volume of your browser, by up to 600%. And that’s above and beyond what your system volume controls can give you.
Just be careful. Adjust your volume in increments, so that you don’t cause hearing damage. And use the extension to return to 100% volume, before the next video auto-plays and scares the willies out of you.
