Messenger.com Is Being Retired

There are a lot of different ways to access your Facebook private messages. You can use the Facebook and Messenger apps on your phone, or the side panel of Facebook.com on your computer. But one way is being retired: www.messenger.com . Meta is doing away with that URL and website on 4/14/2026.

Messenger.com Is Being Retired

If you’ve never used that site, then this is a non-event for you. But some people love that site, because it allows you to see and respond to your Facebook messages in a large, full screen. If that’s you, I have some good news! You won’t lose the functionality of this site, because it’s just being moved. After 4/14, you’ll just need to go to different address: www.facebook.com/messages

If you have any bookmarks or shortcuts to Messenger.com, you should update/edit them to point to www.facebook.com/messages . You can do it right now, even, and 4/14 can pass without notice.
