Creating QR codes is easy and free for anyone! There are plenty of ways for making your own QR code for free, and download/save/print it immediately:

Free Websites

QR Code Generator

QR Code Monkey

My WiFi Sign

I notice that I can create QR codes when using Canva, as well. Adobe also makes QR codes for free, but demand that you sign in and endure advertising, so I’d use them last.

Programs on your Computer

Some of the apps on your computer can make you a generic QR code, but it may not be obvious.

Google Chrome can help:

  • Load the desired website(URL) in Chrome.
  • Click the 3-dots button in the upper-right corner.
  • Go down this menu to float over “Cast, Save and Share” and then click “Create QR Code” on the pop-up menu.

Microsoft Word will create a QR Code:

  • While in a document, press CTRL + F9 on the keyboard.
  • Type in the following code, substituting your desired URL between the quotes:
    • displaybarcode “www.bluescreencomputer.com” qr \3
  • Press F9 on the keyboard.

LibreOffice Writer is even easier for this:

  • While in a document, click the Insert menu.
  • Go to “OLE Object”, then click “QR and Barcode”.
  • Enter your URL into the first field and click OK.

PS: once you’ve created a QR code, make sure to test it and make sure it does exactly what you want.
